IHS Markit (Nasdaq: INFO), a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, today announced that its Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform is successfully powering the delivery of an Investment Book of Record (IBOR) for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board’s (SWIB) front office. The new IBOR is enabling the $104 billion pension investment fund to improve the quality and efficiency of investment decision-making in the front office and supports SWIB’s commitment to a strong financial future for its beneficiaries.

“We are at the forefront of transitioning to IBOR within the pension fund industry and we’ve long recognized the importance of good data management in achieving this objective,” said Michael Williamson, executive director at SWIB. “The IBOR provides information that is more in line with the way we manage risk. In turn, that information can be used by staff to better analyze data using an integrated investment technology platform.”

The IBOR go-live is the culmination of a multi-phase implementation project at SWIB where EDM from IHS Markit acts as a central hub for all of the firm’s investment data and reconciliations. Levr Technology, Inc. (Levr) delivered the implementation for the pension fund.

"As SWIB’s business needs evolve over time, our flexible data management platform will support this change, enabling future initiatives, as well as those in place today,” said Spiros Giannaros, global head of EDM at IHS Markit. “Our work with Levr at SWIB is a good example of how EDM – when implemented as a foundational technology – can support high value, strategic projects and we look forward to collaborating with the firm over the years to come.”
