Posted: 17 June 2013  |  Source: Sequel

Sequel Impact, which the company claim is the first product to deliver multiple sector risk and exposure intelligence in real time, will be launched in early September 2013. It is a standalone product designed to give carriers and brokers the fast, accurate and multiple sector coverage they need for improved risk and exposure based decision making in the office or on the move.

“It’s a first - there is no one product that can do what Sequel Impact does in terms of accuracy, speed, multiple sector coverage and ease of use. The new product is a genuinely ground breaking innovation poised to give carriers and brokers a great advantage – they’ll have the very best intelligence in real time to inform and improve their decision making either before, during or post catastrophe so they can further build their business,” says Michael Graham, Sales and Marketing Director of Sequel. “We developed it following requests from firms who want a faster, more powerful and modern product that’s easily accessible and just doesn’t stop at property portfolios – it provides truly multiple sector coverage.

“This is a totally new development and has been built from the ground up by an expert, dedicated team and it’s currently going through its final testing phase on time and to target. Sequel Impact brings the great benefits of flexible data recording and flexible aggregate reporting, capturing the variety and complexity across all lines of business. This is achieved through user-definable rules and a comprehensive set of exposure calculations. This covers a full range of what firms need but until now have not had access to in such a powerful and useful format that really delivers; from the impact on a portfolio of a newly quoted policy, through to the projected losses across all classes of business of an impending hurricane. It does this visually, accurately and in real time. This is the first time that one product has brought all of these elements together and on such a range of devices – tablet through to desktop. Sequel are now actively taking orders from existing and new customers,” he concludes.

Sequel Impact has been designed to be easy to use which is one of its greatest strengths. It is a graphically rich application making full use of the latest visualisation technologies to present data in a variety of useful formats to support carriers and brokers in their key business decision making. It is underpinned by a powerful analytical engine that quickly calculates maximum loss scenarios for carriers and brokers. The new product can be applied locally or internationally for a full range of risk exposure situations, ranging from GPS coordinates up to larger geographical zones such as postcodes or marine oil fields. It handles events from floods, for example, through to explosions across multiple classes of business. Sequel Impact will complement Sequel’s existing suite of Eclipse Underwriting, Eclipse Broking and Eclipse Financials products.
