CRD IV: The Story So Far

Capital Requirements Directive IV (CRD IV) and the associated Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) promise to completely change the regulatory landscape in the European financial sector. These are the legal and regulatory instruments that will finally bring into force the Basel III accord which itself is a far reaching package of measures developed in direct response to the 2008 financial crisis.  But as Arnold Bennett (1867-1931) English novelist said - any change, even for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.
