European Central Bank: Second Report on Card Fraud
This second public report on card fraud analyses developments in fraud related to card payment schemes (CPSs) in the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA) and covers almost the entire card market.
The total level of fraud using cards issued within SEPA and acquired worldwide amounted to €1.16 billion in 2011. This corresponds to a decrease of 5.8% since 2010. Fraud in relative terms, i.e. the fraud-related share in the value of transactions, fell from 0.040% in 2010 to 0.036% in 2011, its lowest
