Transitioning to India’s Risk Based Supervision (RBS) regime

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently identified 30 banks to transition from CAMELS (Capital adequacy, Asset quality, Management, earnings, Liquidity, and Systems and control) to INROADS (Indian Risk-Oriented and Dynamic Rating System) – India’s Risk Based Supervision (RBS) regime.

As the name suggests, RBS endeavours to establish a link between the compliance (supervisory) activity and actual risks existing in the system
