The shift to capital modeling is a growing phenomenon. Increasing adoption of capital modeling is mainly being driven by evolving global regulations, where regulators are looking to manage the risks of each company more according to their specific risks as opposed to a standard or assumed risk profile.

A lot of the drive has been from the European Solvency II regulations, but many other global regulars have been adopting similar approaches.
